Singapore - Every time we go back to Singapore, we always try to stay somewhere that makes the city feel new again. This time, we decided to try Grand Park City Hall Singapore, a five-star hotel right in the middle of the Civic District. At first, we honestly just expected it to be a practical base—close to the MRT, easy to get around, and comfortable enough for our family of four. But the experience ended up being so much more than that. It felt warm, personal, and quietly luxurious in a way that made us understand why the hotel won Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best, a recognition given only to the top one percent of hotels worldwide.
One of the first things we loved was how incredibly convenient the location is. Grand Park City Hall is literally a three-minute walk from City Hall MRT. Even the kids didn’t complain - which says a lot! From there, we could hop on the East-West Line straight to Changi Airport. Within a short walk, we reached Merlion Park, the Esplanade, and malls like Funan and The Adelphi. For families, being able to walk almost everywhere is such an underrated blessing.
Checking in was smooth, calm, and surprisingly relaxing after a long day of travel. The lobby has this mix of modern and classic charm, and the staff welcomed us with a kind of warmth that immediately set the tone. Nothing felt stiff or overly formal. It was genuinely friendly - just the right balance, and it made us feel taken care of from the moment we stepped inside.
Our Family Room was another pleasant surprise. Spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, it didn’t just look good - it felt good to be in. There was plenty of room for the kids to move around, a proper working desk (which came in handy for catching up on a bit of writing), and little touches like a coffee machine that made mornings smoother. The kids instantly fell in love with the bathtub, while we appreciated the large, bright bathroom and its high-quality amenities. It was one of those hotel rooms you actually enjoy spending time in, not just a place to sleep.
Breakfast at the Crystal Club quickly became a highlight of our stay. The lounge itself feels quiet and airy, with a lovely outdoor area where you can enjoy fresh air without leaving the hotel. The food selection was solid, but what really made us return every morning was the staff. They remembered us, checked on us with genuine warmth, and treated our kids like they were part of the family. It’s rare to find service that feels this personal. We also had dinner there one evening, and the experience was just as consistent - relaxed, friendly, and delicious.
We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at Tablescape Restaurant & Bar. The restaurant has a modern European vibe, stylish but not intimidating. It’s the kind of place where you can dress up a little or go in comfortably after a day out with the kids, and either way it feels right.
The swimming pool was another favourite spot for our family. Framed by greenery and designed with a soothing vibe, it was the perfect place to unwind after exploring Singapore. The kids loved it so much that getting them out of the water became the only challenge. The Sky Garden and gym on the rooftop added a nice touch - quiet corners where you can enjoy a bit of peace above the busy city.
What impressed us the most throughout the stay was how balanced everything felt. Grand Park City Hall is undeniably luxurious, but it never feels pretentious. It’s family-friendly without being chaotic, elegant without feeling distant, and located right in the city centre without losing its sense of calm. Whether you’re travelling with kids, visiting for business, or coming to Singapore for concerts and events, this hotel finds that sweet spot that’s increasingly rare: comfort, location, and a genuine sense of care.
Our stay here wasn’t just comfortable - it became a memory. When a hotel gets the mix of convenience, hospitality, and warmth so effortlessly right, it becomes a place you look forward to returning to. And for us, Grand Park City Hall Singapore has definitely become one of those places.
If you’re planning a trip to Singapore and want a stay that feels smooth, welcoming, and just a little bit special, we truly couldn’t recommend this hotel more.
