Jakarta - Breakfast at Cinnamon, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, was one of those mornings that made us feel instantly grateful for the little joys of travel. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the warm and inviting atmosphere wrapped around us, offering a calm yet vibrant start to the day. The buffet layout immediately drew us in, rows of colorful dishes, fresh fruits, and an array of breads and pastries that promised a morning full of discovery for every member of the family.
What truly set Cinnamon apart was the incredible variety and quality of its offerings. The egg station was a standout, showcasing endless options from classic egg toast and eggs Benedict to Japanese gyeran mari and okonomiyaki, giving even the pickiest eaters a reason to get excited. The noodle station was equally impressive, offering one of the most complete selections of toppings and flavors we’ve seen in Jakarta, allowing us to customize bowls just the way we liked. The Indonesian section added a comforting familiarity with nasi goreng ayam, bihun goreng, and yellow rice with abon sapi, flavors that felt like home while still fitting perfectly into the luxurious breakfast setting.
Everywhere we looked, there was something new to try. Freshly baked breads, including gluten-free and vegan options, mingled with croissants, muffins, and traditional delights like roti pisang coklat & keju. The cake station was a feast for the eyes and palate, from matcha and tiramisu to black forest, lapis legit, and vibrant fruit-topped creations. Pancakes, waffles, and French toast, paired with a variety of jams and ice creams, brought a playful and indulgent touch to the morning.
The hospitality at Cinnamon made the experience even more memorable. Staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that each dish was replenished promptly and that every request was met with a warm smile. The balance of personal service and relaxed dining created a family-friendly atmosphere where everyone could enjoy their breakfast at their own pace.
We found ourselves returning to favorite spots within the buffet multiple times, tasting a new noodle topping, savoring a slice of velvety cake, or experimenting with fresh fruits and yogurt combinations. Even simple moments, like sipping fresh juice while looking out at the city, felt elevated by the thoughtfulness and presentation of every detail.
Cinnamon isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a morning experience that blends luxury, variety, and comfort in a way that makes breakfast feel like a special event. For families traveling to Jakarta, it’s a place where mornings are full of exploration, laughter, and flavors that delight every palate. Leaving the restaurant, we felt both satisfied and inspired, knowing that such a joyful start to the day would set the tone for the adventures ahead.
